As I board the plane to leave
Cranbrook I can't help but notice the breath taking mountain range ahead of me. The vast fields that lead to the base of these huge rugged peaks that still have a decent frosting of snow. The sun hits these wonders of the world that we take for granted and it lights them up in a way that makes the rugged edges glow and soften. It is so beautiful that it humbles me and adds to the respect I have for this landscape. I am surprised that it doesn't make me sad, it only makes me excited to return and seem them again.
After landing in Vancouver I feel like I am me again. Traveling alone (not in a depressing way), taking things as they come and not having the stress of other peoples planning. I am ready for this. More now then ever!! I am going to miss you all terribly but I know that you have my back and I've never felt more loved.
Thank you so much for the personal visits, the phone calls and the cards.
Uncle Pete, thank you so much for making the trip down. More then anything, you attending my send off party showed me that family will always be there for you because we are family. In my last blog I wrote "fight for what you want cause no one will fight for you". I have now found that untrue. Your family will fight for you. Whether its playing devils advocate, taking a stand when you forget what your fighting for or standing there takin the punches with you. Family will always be there for you. I am SO happy to say that I have the most amazing family that I wouldn't trade for anything. That being said, I'm going to miss you all terribly!
I'm also going to miss pickup trucks, Kraft dinner, calmato juice, summer time (haha)...I know there will be more but right now I'm too darn tired to think!
I made it here and the weather will be alright for a while then some rain will come. It feels like home here though and I am comfortable and happy to be here. I just need to get my butt in gear to find my own place and job. That will all come with time!
Much love

Taryn, I am so glad that you arrived safe and sound, and what a great picture of you sipping your drink. I hear you had a great flight and able to sleep most of the way. Take it easy for a couple of days before you start house and job hunting. Miss you and Love you Lots Grama
